Young Justice Legacy / Dragon Update

http://www.youngjusticelegacy.com/overview/hero

The Young Justice Legacy website updated. They are showing the character models, I can understand the style and choice in the character design. I wonder how the animation is going to be. I wished they had the characters in an action pose. The relaxed t-pose is great, but I wonder why they didn't have them in a more natural pose then.

I mean lets look at Zatanna (my favorite) and see how she has her hand on her hip. I mean this is an obvious Zatanna pose. Looking at the one in the middle (which I believe is from the Justice League Unlimited series) and the one with Zatanna in the Young Justice First season.

I can't wait to see how the Invasion season is going to turn out. I hope Legend of Korra picks up soon. Young Justice is great, I remember Toonomi and seeing Gundam Wing and Animaniacs, "Young Justice, more than any cartoon I had seen in a long time, harkened back to the Saturday mornings of my childhood, where stories were taken seriously and didn’t “talk down” to its audience." -Sharon Scott

Well off my soap box and onto the podium and too newer and better things.

I have my dragon colored and need to fix the textures on the cards. I need to set the table up to look like he is playing a proper game of cards. I think I will set it up for pinochle and maybe have him play a game with Maria and Hester.

Dragon and Hester update

Adding more to the scene and working on some of the textures.
The dragon is coming along. Did a quick test and need to work on the lower arms/legs and add more around the tail. I still need to paint and get  the cards modeled to the right size. I am still trying to get the hair to be like fire, smoke mix.

Update

Wednesday is my birthday and we are going to Vegas on Thursday for my 21st and will be sadly, returning on the following Tuesday. I have been really busy with family and projects. Dad's birthday last weekend, we went to see the Liechtenstein at the Art Institute, not really my thing but it was nice to see some of the other works.

These are some of my favorites in Renaissance area. Seeing these got me in the mood to do some sketches and I thought I would do some body sculpting in Zbrush and get my oil paints out again and do some painting.

I have been touching this in between other projects, I am gonna practice and do more human body sculpting. I am juggling drawing characters and redoing my storyboard to make into a quick animatic.

Speaking of sculpting I started the Chinese dragon for the game of cards. I bought a Christmas ordainment for HDR images to use as lighting. I revisited the Kiss to have something to practice taking HDR shots with. I don't have a big fancy camera just used a small Sony camera.
It turned out nicely for the first test run. I don't think I will use the area in front of the mirror any time soon. If I do I think I need to do it in the day time so I won't need the head lights that wash everything out. I used Softimage to place them and the HDR shot to light them. I touched it up in Photoshop to add some grain and more shadows.

I finished Maria as well, and got the low model built and sent off to Michael Bryant to rig. When I get her back I will have all my materials for my new reel.
