I have revisited my old character design of my Birth-mythology, The Hermit.

Original Model |
Here is the old version of the character. I spent a lot of time studying fashion and the futuristic/steam punk styles and see which elements would work with this theme and character .
|
Concept Sheet | |
This is a Mage who uses Light/Fire and Smoke/Shadows. The left controls the shadows; it is pale and sharp and has be protected from the light. While the right hold the flames and light; burnt skin and looks like it is also covered in oil. I really wanted the cape to illustrated that in the the character, so I have it wrapped and bound the left arm and then have it burn off/ripped away from the right arm.

Z Render |
I had modeled a large portion of him before and I re-sculpted the original body and extracted the clothing from it. I re-modeled the cape using Topogun, rest were modeled in Maya.

Turn Around |
|
I have been working on my environments; I wanted a Buddhist Temple with a Gothic Church accents. All of my original ideas would have worked for a artistic kind of thing but I really had to focus on the character as best as I could. So for my beauty shot I focused on what I needed to show is the character, the lighting and the environment without taking away from the character and not have it look like a crazy cluster.

Test 1 |

Test 2 | | | | | | |
I really like the Sunset/Sunrise lighting effect and I waned to have the shadows fall on the body without that yellow washout that sunsets always give.
